I like to start my walks from the Duck Pond parking lot but the larger lot further on down the road is good as well.

This area is rich in places to bird walk. the Egrets nest in the trees next to the Duck Pond and are spectacular. You can see them building their nests, raising their young, and just hanging around depending on the time of year.

Spring is best. Avocets, Plovers, Godwidts, Turns, Hawks, and if you are lucky, a Clapper Rail.

The Red Wing Blackbirds do their mating dance in the bushes all around.

One of the nice things about this area is that it is a bird sancuary with lots of people and the birds are relatively tame and used to people. You can get much closer than in more remote areas.
